I selected this photo because it reflects the calm and peaceful sunset taken at my house which changes color each night. It shows the natural beauty of the sky and how there can be many elements presented. Compositionally, there is rule of thirds because the boat is in one third of the photo while the the left side of the dock is in another third. Also there is color shown by the colors reflected in the sky and water which are vivid and bright. To take this photo I had the camera set on 1/6 for shutter speed and f/8 for aperture.

The compositional element that is most apparent is the pattern of the spiders web as you can see it come into focus. There is also depth of field seen with the focus of the spiders web and the blur of the background having a shallow depth of field. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the exposure of the photo, making it a little less bright and the white balance was sunny. The camera was set to 1/100 for shutter speed. This photo reminds me of my house in Maine where there are endless rolling mountains and how the nature is so delicate and beautiful. Every morning there are spider webs glistening in the sunlight which highlights the delicacy.

This photo was taken for the power lines and playgrounds assignment. What I like about this photo is that its captures the suns rays of light through the power line and shows the detail of the wooden pole. My point of view was straight on to the power line attached to the pole which I knelt on the ground to get which reflects why the suns rays are coming in from an angle. The depth of field is shallow because the power line is in focus with the background such as the trees are not. The ISO was set to 100 and the White Balance was sunny.

I took this photo for the portrait assignment when we were taking images of our peers. I really like this photo because of the way the light highlights one side of her face and how she is looking into the light.
My point of view was straight on when taking the photo. The photo follows the rule of thirds because Grace is in one third of the photo, not directly centered. The ISO was set to 800 and the White Balance was fluorescent. |
Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most noticeable is the shapes in the photo such as the jar of poison, Grace, and Maddy in the background. There is also lines seen in the background which was taken from my painting with lights photo and placed in this one. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the color to a more dull color and highlighted the red. I also edited the photo with placing more than one photo in this image such as the image of Maddy and the painting with lights picture. The camera was set to fluorescent and 800 for ISO. This photo communicates the feeling of danger and how what is portrayed externally could differ from what a person feels internally.

My favorite part of this photo is the way the the light is in the center of the magnifying glass where her eye is enlarged. This photo was developed for the double exposure assignment. I edited this by placing the image of the leaves onto the picture of Maddy. I also edited the picture of the leaves to make it more transparent so Maddy's face can shine through. The ISO for the image of Maddy was 800 while the image of the leaves was 1oo. The white balance was sunny for the leaves and fluorescent for the image of Maddy.
